It's like that scant from family Guy with Brian owing Stewie money, they've spent more trying to make it look like they don't use child labor. Then just paying the farmer's more to not use child labor

Child labor is a symptom; the cause is the low pay the producers receive. While it's certainly worthwhile to alleviate the symptoms, to really make them go away, you need to address the cause.

This is why capitalism is evil. They know the farmers are barely surviving but they DON'T CARE. Shareholder value and profits come first. Corporations, as they are structured, are inherently evil.

A good friend of my family's wrote a book on his brother who disappeared in Ivory Coast. He was a journalist involved in searching about the cocoa economy there. He was never found. His name was AndrΓ© Kieffer

The system is backwards. Mankind's natural state is one of peace, clarity, and happiness. As one's health declines over a lifespan people tend to wind up and become violent and conflicted, not wind down and become bed-ridden. Violence is bone-rattles and ghosts from ailing people. As society becomes more health oriented they become less conflicted. Predators, both human and animal, are like a bacteriophage gathering a slow immunity then finally caving in. There are two sides to immunity, not one, and each side has a series of illnesses, but general health is that long forgotten memory of when you were a kid for some reason. Since the dawn of microscopy and clean food, violence has generally decreased, and America for a long time was generally the leader. That bully who bugs you is just a guy with bad health and, thus, more drive. Look it up. There has been a general decline in violence since the discovery of bacteria and the cleaning of utensils and food products. In fact, society may be too healthy.

I am from Europe, and Tony's Chocolate tastes fucking amazing. Yes it costs more, but it is so worth it. Not only by the social aspects, but also simply by the quality of the product. I didn't know their backstory, but now I like them even more.

It's a shame that in supermarket isles they are dwarfed by the industry giants, who sell you sugar in brown for premium prices from children for children. I mean, I don't want people to agonize about all the shit in the world, but how can we possibly get more ignorant and complicit in this very shit. It baffles me, how people can honestly buy the nestle and ferrero stuff, then read some tabloid bullshit and shout and scream about migration of people they exploit by their very life style.

It is not new, it is not a huge revelation and crying about it wont change a thing. But it is so frustrating…

I love Tonys choco and how they try to make a difference. It s pretty much the only brand I buy since I heard about it a few years back. If more companies worked like that we would simply have a better world. And what is kind of mind blowing is that it is not more expensive to buy. Go Tony !!
