Krissy Matthews, the explosive British-Norwegian blues guitarist, is gearing up to launch a new double album titled “Krissy Matthews & Friends” and embark on a 50-date European tour in Spring 2024. This highly anticipated album, set to be released on May 10th via German label Ruf Records, features a star-studded lineup of musicians from the modern blues and rock scene.

The album, which took a year to produce, includes appearances from renowned artists such as the god of hellfire Arthur Brown, the energetic John Otway, rap metal giants Clawfinger, and the esteemed Hamburg Blues Band, among others. With a mix of original material and cover songs, “Krissy Matthews & Friends” boasts 24 tracks and is nearly 3 hours long.

“I wanted to get all my favorite musicians together that I have met on the road in my career,” said Matthews. “They are not all here, but a good handful are! I did not want this album to have a box, so there are many different genres from metal to blues and jazz to rock’n’roll. But in the end, it is a Krissy Matthews record.”

The first single from the album, “Queen,” featuring powerhouse vocalist Kim Jennett, is set for release on March 29th. This rocking track is described as a song of anger inspired by a particular person in Matthews’ life. The second single, “Why Are You Ashamed of Me?”, featuring the powerful vocals of Heidi Solheim, addresses an issue close to Matthews’ heart – the Norwegian government’s refusal to grant him a passport despite his Norwegian descent.

Following the album release, Matthews will kick off his European tour, captivating audiences with his dynamic and explosive stage presence. Known for his unique sound and incredible live performances, Matthews has shared the stage with notable artists like Toto, Joe Bonamassa, and Beth Hart.

In Norway, Matthews will tour with his lineup “Krissy Matthews and the Viking Blues Band,” while in Europe, he will be joined by special guests such as Gerry McAvoy, Kai Strauss, and Kim Jennett. In the UK, Matthews will perform with his new trio featuring Slawek Semeniuk on bass and Gerry Reynders on drums.

The UK leg of the tour will include stops at venues such as Temperance in Leamington Spa, Bannerman’s Bar in Edinburgh, and Pizza Express in Holborn, London. With his unmatched talent and passion for music, Krissy Matthews is set to deliver an unforgettable experience for blues and rock fans across Europe.
